Government Commission for Data Protection
The Commission's mission is to:
- to develop the protection of personal data within the State administration;
- to promote best practices throughout the state administration and raise awareness among civil servants;
- to contribute to the consistent implementation of policies in this area:
- proposing to the Government a programme for managing the compliance of data processing activities carried out by state administration entities with applicable legislation, by guiding and supporting the relevant heads of administration in the implementation of appropriate measures, procedures and guidelines for state officials;
- assisting state administration data protection officers;
- advising members of the Government upon request;
- in the event of the application of Article 57(2), performing the function of data protection officer as defined in Article 38 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, with the tasks described in Article 39 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679;
- to work closely with the minister responsible for data protection.
