Public interest mission

A public interest mission refers to an activity or objective pursued by an entity (public or private) that aims to serve the general interest, i.e. the collective well-being of society, rather than private or commercial interests. It may be inferred from the provisions of European Union law or applicable national law, or from the powers conferred by the government's internal regulations.
