Metadata approver

All metadata records intended for publication in the CDSP must be reviewed and approved by an individual from the data-holding organisation before being submitted to the CDSP manager at the Department for Digitalisation. Ideally, the metadata approver should not be the same person who created the metadata record, as approving a metadata record for publication on the searchable asset list, and thus by construction in the CDSP, constitutes an 'agreement in principle' to share and make the data available in the event of future access requests. The exact scope of approval is at the discretion of the approver – they may review the entire record, but this is not mandatory. Particular attention should be paid to the completeness and accuracy of the metadata title and description, the type of data protection, and applicable legislation, in particular the selection of relevant articles for TUPD and ARD.
